Abstract

The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has enabled the implementation of intelligent security systems that support real-time monitoring and remote access control. Conventional doorbell systems generally provide only audio notifications and do not allow users to visually identify visitors or control door access remotely. This study aims to design and implement an IoT-based smart doorbell system using ESP32-CAM and Telegram Bot for real-time visitor notification and remote door access control at the UPTD Pengelolaan Pendapatan Daerah Pandeglang. The system integrates ESP32-CAM as the main controller and image acquisition module, a push button as the visitor trigger, a buzzer as the audio notification, a relay module, and a solenoid door lock as the access control actuator. Telegram Bot is used as the communication platform to transmit visitor images and receive user commands for door control. This research applies a prototype development method consisting of requirement analysis, hardware and software design, system integration, implementation, and functional testing. The testing results show that the system can capture visitor images, send real-time notifications to Telegram, and execute door lock and unlock commands successfully. The proposed system provides a practical, low-cost, and user-friendly access control solution that improves visitor monitoring and door security in public service environments. This study contributes to the development of IoT-based smart security systems by integrating visual notification and remote door control into a single ESP32-CAM-based prototype.
